Common questions

Who qualifies for Researcher?

Students, postdocs, faculty and staff at universities, hospitals and non-profit research institutes. If you work at a company, choose Pro.

What can my agent do?

Every plan can create read-only API keys for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor or Codex. Your agent searches the papers and findings for the topics you follow, and on paid plans reads their knowledge bases too. It can't change anything. Free includes 200 tool calls a month; paid plans include up to 5,000 a day, far more than one person's agent uses.

What arrives by email?

On paid plans: a daily screen when a new paper is highly relevant to your topics, and a weekly briefing. You can turn either off in Settings.

What are custom topics?

A research area you define. Research Monitor builds its collection and knowledge base from the literature and keeps it current.

Can I change plans or cancel?

Yes. From Settings → Billing you can switch plans, with the difference prorated, or cancel at the end of the billing period.

How does Lab work?

A PI starts a lab in Settings and pays for 5 seats on one invoice, then invites their group by email. The owner holds one seat, and every member gets Pro. Founding labs get 50% off the first year with a promotion code at checkout.
